Greenwood Games brings free outdoor puzzles, playbook adventures, and locally made Washington games to 15 blocks of Seattle's Greenwood Ave.

SEATTLE, WA — July 2026 — On Saturday, July 25 from 1–6PM, Greenwood Avenue will transform into a free, self-guided community game event unlike anything Phinney Ridge has seen before. Greenwood Games invites neighbors to pick up a playbook and spend the afternoon collecting clues, cracking puzzles, and discovering games made right here in Washington, all along Greenwood Ave between 65th and 80th.

Think Pride Hop, ArtWalk, and the Gumshoe all rolled into one, except the whole thing is built around games and puzzles.

How It Works

Participants pick up a free playbook at any hub location along Greenwood Avenue. Inside are four different games, including a special neighborhood Sudoku, word puzzles, and a new dice game called Odzee. Clues are posted in participating business windows along the avenue. The more ground you cover, the more your playbook comes to life.

Along the route, local game designers and makers will be set up at demo tables, giving participants a chance to discover and play Washington-made games firsthand.

A Walk Worth Taking

Part of the fun is how the route unfolds. Start at Ridgewood Bottle & Tap to play a round of Dank & Draft, a Washington craft beer card game, or compete in a round of Odzee at their demo table.

Head across the street to Kym's Kiddy Corner to discover WordWeaver Adventures, a cooperative word-building game perfect for families.

Drop by the Doe Bay and Holy Mountain corridor to sample CharCUTtery and Satanimals, going from date night to full-on demonic in one city block.

Build a precarious tree with Offshoots at Greenwood Hardware, or add a Triple Scoops ice cream order to your slice at Pie Bar. End your trip at Diva Espresso to collect the very last clue you need to solve the Greenwood Games Sudoku.

And there's so much more to discover in between.

Locally Made Games on the Route

Greenwood Games features an impressive lineup of Washington-made tabletop games available to play and purchase, including:
